Ashley is the world’s youngest rock radio presenter.  Well… he was 37 years ago.  Since this snot-nosed 16 year-old schoolboy co-hosted Extravaganza on Radio Nottingham and enthused about up-and-coming combos like Genesis and Amon Duul II, Ashley has been absorbed, besotted and shaped by rock.

Listeners might know him from his Soundscapes show on Radio Derby in the 90s, his more recent sojourn on Saga Radio (ok, he’s getting old – deal with it, girls) or his regular column in Classic Rock Society magazine where he has recently shown his true colours as a grumpy old man of rock, so don’t expect to hear drum solos (boring) or bonus tracks (cynical sales ploy) and DO expect him to whine about arena concert ticket prices and lack of info on albums.

Expect him largely, though, to play a refreshingly, heart-stoppingly wide spectrum of rock as he selflessly indulges in his love for everyone from Vangelis to Van Der Graaf, Oldfield to Ozric Tentacles and insists you will love them, too.

As both synth and prog nut, you should find him neatly bridged between Bruce (Gall) and (Paul) Baker.  Hang on: does that make him Clapton?  Alright, just God will do.
